What is SNFP? Stacey Nails Footwork Project (SNFP) is a nonprofit organization in the state of Florida, where we go out and make contact with youth, individual, families, elderly, and veterans that are homeless. We work one on one with the ones that want to become and stay functional citizens. Footwork means just that, going out and communicating, building lines of trust, encouraging people to believe and love themselves enough to take all the necessary steps to make their lives better. SNFP goal is to help a homeless individual get and stay on their feet that they will eventually return as a board member, member, or volunteer for SNFP, where they can help other homeless individuals through encouragement. This is the solution we are hoping that will end homelessness.
Why was SNFP started? Stacey didn’t want to live her life without a purpose. The things she’s learned that give the greatest impact is love and kindness. With her being homeless once, she felt that was the place she had to show love and kindness. Being homeless is the lowest place an individual can be. She knew that they needed someone like her; a person that have walked the walk they are walking, sleeping under the stars, and despite all odds she made it out. Stacey wanted to be a part of something that uplifts the people in her city and communities around. Sometimes she wonders why the homeless population is growing. She asked herself, “Maybe they needed something different and she wants to introduce something different. She wanted a way to lift people and help them become strong. This is love and kindness that’s needed to build others up.
Who started SNFP? Stacey Nails brought her idea to Lyric Allen and Jason Johnson. Together we came up with a plan to start a self-help homeless nonprofit.
How did SNFP start? SNFP started after Stacey learned that her book a “Ruined Life: How I Became Who I Am” had touched so many people who were experiencing or experienced the same things as her. She had a message that she was not aware of. Through her book, she knew what she needed to feel to feel accomplished. She had to make a difference. I chose to help the people where I came from. Sometimes individuals make it out of and they forget about the people they left behind.
Where did SNFP start? As a team, we decided to start at Curry Park in West Palm Beach Florida. This place was the same place where Stacey spent her time as a homeless and addicted individual. It reminded Stacey of home and her people. She was hoping that some of them were still familiar with her. This way they can see someone they know or knew had made it out.
